San Diego Dynasty won their fourth tournament of 2011 this weekend, taking home first place honors at the Chicago NPPL event. Dynasty is now a perfect four-for-four this seasons with wins in Galveston, Huntington Beach, Paris, and now Chicago.

Dynasty played their preliminary games on Saturday, and finished 5-2 with their losses coming against long time rival Oakland Blast, and the NPPL’s newest pro team, Portland Uprising.

On Sunday, Dynasty faced off against Avalanche, Arsenal, and Infamous, and won all three best-of-three matches. Dynasty then played a best-of-three match against Edmonton Impact to see who would advance to play for first place, and again came out on top. Avalanche beat Portland Uprising on the other side, pitting Dynasty against Avalanche in the finals and Uprising and Impact playing for third and fourth place.

The finals against Avalanche proved to be unforgettable and controversial. Dynasty came out on top, keeping their winning streak alive for 2011. Avalanche finished 2nd, Portland Uprising surprised everyone with a 3rd Place finish, and Impact finished 4th.

San Diego Dynasty has partnered with Guerrilla Air to offer fans a unique opportunity to be part of the team for a day. One lucky winner will be flown to Southern California where they will have the chance to train with the team for a day. For all the details on the contest, click here.

Sunday, April 3

San Diego Dynasty continued their winning ways with a victory at the 2011 Huntington Beach NPPL event. The win was their third win of the year, and 50th professional win. Dynasty already had more wins and series titles than any other team in the history of the sport, but the 50th victory was an important milestone none the less. “Making it to fifty wins is incredible,” said Dynasty Captain Alex Fraige. “Now it’s time for fifty more.”

Dynasty started slow in Huntington Beach, losing their first two games to Oakland Blast. As they’ve done many times in the past, they turned things around quickly, and played the rest of the tournament without losing a game.

They started their winning ways with two wins against Chicago Aftershock, and finished out the preliminary round with two wins against San Francisco Explicit. That was enough to make it to the Quarter Finals on Sunday where they would face off against San Antonio X Factor, DC Arsenal, and Edmonton Impact. Dynasty won all three matches without losing a game, advancing to the semi finals to play Chicago Legend.

Dynasty kept rolling and won their two games against Legend to earn a spot in the finals where they would face their long time rival Sacramento XSV. After two hard fought victories, Dynasty earned their 50th career win, 3rd win of the 2011 season, and were once again the NPPL Surf City Open champions.

The entire event is available On Demand at if you want to check out any of the weekends great action.

Dynasty continued their strong start to the 2011 Season with a win at the Millennium Series opener in Paris.

Dynasty got off to a strong start with a 5-3 victory over the Toulouse Tontons, but then stumbled in a 5-2 loss to the Marseille Icon. After the loss, the last prelim game against Toulouse Dagnir Dae became a must win game to have a chance to advance, and Dynasty came up big with a 5-0 victory.

Sunday started with a 5-1 victory over the London Shock which was followed up by a 5-0 victory over Breakout Spa in the semi finals.

Dynasty would meet Art Chaos Moscow in the finals who have multiple players from the Russian Legion on their roster making this essentially a rematch of the finals from the PSP Galveston.

Once again Dynasty came out on top with a 5-2 victory, winning the first Millennium event of the year. With back to back victories to start the season, Dynasty will look to continue their success in Huntington Beach at the NPPL’s first event on April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. This weekend we had our first practice getting ready for the Las Vegas NPPL event. Edmonton Impact flew down to San Diego for practice, and we had a great couple days learning the field at Camp Pendleton. As always, our RPS paint shot great. For some of us, it was our first chance to use the new Eclipse Dynasty Geo 2 that others had gotten just before the DC NPPL and MAO. Impact is a great team, and they always give us a good practice.
