The New Indoor Paintball Facility Open in April

Soon Wilmington will expand its already crowded arena of attractions by adding a new one – Crossfire Paintball, an indoor paintball park. The brand new 15,000-sq.-foot climate-controlled facility is to open in April off Castle Hayne Road.
Owner Kirk Walsh, who graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, thinks there is a market for paintball facilities serving a year-round activity for the younger crowd. Feeling that the city lacked indoor entertainment for families with kids they decided to add some thrill to the entertaining sector of the area. The facility will feature 11,000-sq-feet of NFL-grade astroturf which could accommodate 20 players in the battlefield that consists of several interchangeable, inflatable bunkers. The bunkers may be altered to provide fresh experience for loyal customers.
As the target audience is 7-16 year olds the gameplay is designed accordingly. Because of safety issues their paintball guns will be low-impact 50-caliber guns instead of commonly used 68-caliber paintball guns. The paintballs of this caliber will hurt less and break easier.
